ive decided to get my tongue pierced this week, but wanted to know what to buy beforehand for the healing phase, so i dont have to buy it afterwards, what mouthwash would you recommend? ive heard salt water is also good?....... also, as the first tongue bar is large, to accomodate the swelling, do they give you the second bar to take home to change (2weeks later) or do you have to go back to the shop?

  1. Please please please think long and hard before you do this. My other half had his tongue pierced 14 years ago. He started getting some really bad dental problems about 5 years later. Basically, where the barbell was rubbing on the back of his upper incisors it was causing some pretty heavy wear. He has had severe gum infections, 3 operations and veneers to mask the damage. Before getting this done perhaps you should look into the reality of the damage it can cause to the teeth.

  2. Hey - I got my tongue pierced 5 years ago, the mouth is a pretty clean place and pretty much self cleans. I used salt water once a day to help the healing process.

They pierce it with a long bar and you can get it changed at the shop two weeks later free of charge.

I wouldn't really recommend mouthwash. I think it would just sting?

Email me if you have any further questions

  3. well when i got my tongue pierced i used scope to rinse my mouth...

as for the smaller tongue ring u must buy it separately.. u can change it on your own after u feel u don't have pain anymore...

  4. you won't be able to use mouthwash unless it has no alcohol in it. Oral B was recommended to me when i got my tongue pierced. you clean it by swishing salt and water in your mouth after each meal and after brushing your teeth. and the barbell they give you when they pierce is larger, but you will have to buy a smaller piece of jewellery on your own, or go back to the piercing shop to buy another one in 3 weeks. they will not provide another one to you.

  5. the first thing to buy is some anti stupid pills

why on earth do you want your tongue pierced ??

  6. diluted mouthwash with water, use a cheap brand that doesn't contain alcohol

they tell you to come back to change in so they can check up on the healing

  7. hi i had my tongue pierced i didn't use anything on mine but you could use anti bacterial mouth wash to help it

you tent to get a plastic tube at the begining which has balls on either end then you go back and they change it for your smaller 1
