Getting nits out of longer hair?

I have shoulder length thick hair and I have lice. My mom picks the nits and lice out one by one each night, but it takes an hour and a half. I am very impatient and don't like sitting for a long time. Is there anyway to speed up this process?

u could cut your hair shorter, thats wut i had to do when i had nits but go to your doctor and they will give u good strong cream to kill nits. it is a little expensive but it will wrk. im not to sure about the name  but just ask ur doc. thats about it

EWWW!!! thats gross!!!!! i have never had nits whatever those are or lice!! thank god! and i dnt plan on it!
