Question:

Getting out of ITT Tech?

I completed the admissions test, and signed a paper saying I was accepted into the school. After doing quite a bit of research I have changed my mind and decided to attend a 4 year community college instead.

I am supposed to meet with a Financial Aid Officer from ITT Tech this Saturday, but so far I have not signed over any loans to them or filled out my FAFSA which they asked me to do through their site.

Classes start June 3rd. Shouldn't I still be able to back out?

  1. Read over any contracts you signed, if it says you have to be a part of the school drop out.  Hopefully any costs for joining will be pretty minimal, if it helps any I didn't like the school much either you are better off at a community, I dropped out way late though and owe lots of money

  2. I should certainly think so!  Contact the school and tell them that you've decided to attend a different school.

  3. Yes, you can change your mind.

Just do your research.  There is no such thing as a "4 year community college".  Community colleges are 2 year by definition.  Make sure you are going where you really want to be.
