  1. about $25k-30k and 8 months max

  2. Call your local Airport a FBO and ask for fight training it cost between 11 and 13gs then you need a medical, and a sign off for the FAA exam if you have the money you can get your private pilot in about 90 days, you have to fly at least 4 days a week.

  3. im doing mine right now in a helicopter..

but i live in New Zealand haha/

here im paying $68,000NZ all up to get my private lisence and my commercial.

im doing it in a one year course with a student loan.

    its mean!!!

  4. visit the yellow pages and will see a lot of schools every one has different cost.

fligth safety is 0ne of the most known in vero beach fl.

  5. There are different classes of pilot's certifcates in the US. Sport Pilot, Private, Commercial and Airline Transport; each progessively more involved. Of course then there are instrument, multi-engine ratings, etc. as well as instructor certificates.

A basic private pilot's will run you $6-7000 for everything including a minimum of 40 hours of instruction (60-70 is more realistic), ground school, written exam, and checkride not to mention a flight physical. If you work at it, you can obtain a PPL in about 3 months or so; faster if you jam or longer if you stretch the lessons out.

Most airports of any size have flight schools. You might want to call around and see if there are any flying clubs at these airports. Clubs will generally save you about 20% or so on total flight costs over straight rental from an FBO (fixed base operator, a term for airport shops that sell fuel, supplies, rent aircraft ,etc.

  6. Well, golly.  I got mine in 1964, and it cost about $800.  You could rent an airplane for $12.00 per hour in those days.  I received my training in what is still really the best way:  I went out to the local airport and walked up to the counter and said, "I want to get my pilot's certificate."

Individualized instruction in the local airport setting is still probably the best way to get your Private, Commercial, CFI, and Instrument ratings.

As for the cost today, in US dollars, it will cost you between $5,500 and $8,000 to get your private, and around $28,000 to $32,000 to get the commercial and all the usual ratings.

If the money is going to be a problem, but you want a career in aviation, your next stop is your Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps recruiter's office.

    Have fun!
