Getting ready for summer league. Going to the track. Shoud I wear ankle weights while running?

Im a 6'1'' center, weigh 150. (9th grader) I want my legs to be stronger. Will they be alot stronger if I wear 5 pound ankle weights or should I just run?? What are the advanatages to ankle weights

  1. The possibility of hip, knee, ankle and foot injury far outweigh the possible additional advantage you may eventually gain.  Don't use ankly weights.


  2. There is no reason to ever run in ankle weights. There are no advantages and the increase in chance of getting hurt is ridiculous. If a doctor or coach tells you to wear ankle weights get away from them as fast as possible because they have no idea what they are talking about.
