  1. Catch the grey water from your shower and recycle it by using that water to flush toilets with. Consider adding a flush-less urinal for men. These use an oil cartridge to keep the smell down and sewer gasses from getting into the house

  2. Use recycled tiles,  people are useing broken tiles and create really cool looks for bathroom floors, plus you can buy them really cheap.  You can get the bathroom counter made from recycled glass bottles and it looks really good.  Put in a low-flow toilet, shower and taps.

  3. Habitat for Humanity has recycled/ reclaimed house parts for sale cheap.  I've seen everything there from sinks to light fixtures, doorknobs, flooring, cabinets, bathtubs and paint.  Look for one near you.  Also, you can find cheap paint at Home Depot on their oops paint shelf.  It's usually enough to do a bathroom and it's the best paint, they just made it too dark or too light.  Check the back of the store for marked down medicine cabinets and scratch and dent fixtures.

  4. if you have a TV and get the DYI channel it has some really great shows on how to remodel all rooms in your house by doing it green.

  5. Have a foot pedal installed that turns the water on and off.  This makes it so easy not to waste water when you are brushing your teeth/washing face and hands etc. - and it is an easy to add feature.
