Question:

Getting ready to try diving?

My high school swim team needs a few divers, and I'm considering trying it. I took dance for several years, but quit about a year ago, so I used to be pretty flexible. I'm already a very strong swimmer. I'm going to be a sophomore next year, and have until late August before swim season starts. What could I do this summer to get ready to try diving when swim season starts? I've never been on a swim team before, so also, what can I expect at practices and meets? Thanks!!

  1. Having fun is the most important part. The high school dive coach should teach you all you need but find a board over the summer and goof off for a little while and see what you can do. I would definetly try diving. its a lot of fun and dancers tend to be very good at it. also expect the meets to be a lot of fun theres lots of cheering and the team will really make you feel welcome.

  2. May be you can try taking diving lessons over the summer so you know what to expect and know how to do it.

  3. Hold your breath
