I had a shortcut on my desktop for a game, and then I uninstalled that game, but the shortcut stayed... but now when I try to delete that shorcut on my desktop, it tells me I can't becaue it no longer is located at the same location. I'm using Vista on windows, can anyone help?

It's annoying to have a blank icon on my screen i can't get rid of.

  1. Yeah ive noticed this great side affect with Vista. Try download killbox and using that to remove the icon.

  2. download Unlocker its free and its small, just try it and see if it helps

and if it doesn't help im sure it will come in handy someday

  3. 1. restart your computer and it will go away.

    2. if that doesnt work you can put your computer into safe mode.

    to do this,

restart your computer, repeatedly tap the F8 button. choose restart in safe mode. then delete it.

    hope this helps !

  4. try to use a third party software to remove it. Visit www.download.com

  5. try dragging it to the recycling bin, then go to the bin, and delete everything, then if that doesnt work, then go to start menau, click on search, and look up the nAME OF THE game, after the search is complte, delete EVERYTHING that has to do with the game and i mean EVERYTHING, trust m, i hav vista too, and it turns out vista is a prototype of the new windows software Mojave
