Getting rid of fleas. and pesky cats.?

Question

heya. i live in a block of flats and i have been bitten all over from fleas from my neighbours cats. they always sleep on my recycle boxes out side my door so its covered in the cat hair.

will it still be safe to go in the recycle boxes?

how do you reccommend i clean them?

and do you know if you can get something to put on my floor to keep the cats away from my door?

You could try cat repellent

The fleas will not stay in the boxes if the cats don't go there.  Try sprinkling your boxes with peppermint oil.  You can find it in the drugstore and it is relatively cheap.Peppermint can also be used to get fleas off animals as they do not like it.You won't need to use very much in the box as it is very strong and will cause the cats eyes to waterand burn when they go to snuggle down at night.  I would also rub some on the threshold of my doors to keep new fleas from coming in.  Good Luck.
