Getting rid of scratches on a DVD?

Is there any way to get rid of a whole c**p load of scratches on my DVD? It is a cheap DVD to begin with but the scratches keep me from even watching the movie. Is there anything i can do at home to get rid of those without buying anything expensive?

Not really anything you can do at home, short of going to the video store and buying one of those DVD cleaners (motorized ones). The cheap wipes with the "cream" don't work very well to fill in deep scratches.
