Getting rid of the smell of cat urine?

I had a cat that pee'd along the baseboard in one room. I have recently got rid of the cat, so I am not concerned about it happening again, I just want to get rid of the smell. Does anyone have any suggestions?

try natures miracle odor and stain remover. you can find it at Petco or any  grocery store in your pet food isle.

people like you really get under my skin. I can't believe you got rid of the cat. That behavior can be solved.

Anyway, spray it with a vinegar/water solution (50/50) and spriknle baking powder on it. wait until it dries, vacuum it up

I use vinegar alone some times.

there are some home made recipes, such as

1 cup hydrogen peroxide (3%)

1TBS Backing Soda

1 tsp dishwasher or any liquid soap.

use a  black light (UV light) to detect the spots.

the smell of vinegar will disappear with in minutes of use

if you are planning to get another one you don't know what bad behavior the new one would have, you could have kept yours and dealt with the problem ( this is of course is you gave him up because of the urine thing)

Oh man, good luck with that!  My brother moved into a house that use to have cats and he got his carpet professionally cleaned three times and changed the carpet pads and it still wasn't enough.

well what you can do is go to a pet shop and ask for heldon cleaning which is a product to get rid of the bad urine smells. if that doesn't work get cleaning products and try to clean it with that, oh and try spray some perfume. heheh.
