Getting rid of the smell of spilled perfume?

I just cleaned out my closet and took out a bag that had all of my perfumes in it and was immediately hit by the smell - one of them had spilled in the bag, and now my whole apartment smells like perfume. I've propped open windows, turned on the fan, and all it seems to do is spread around more. help?

  1. Tomato Sauce, Olive Oil and Sea Salt will rid the smell

  2. Most perfumes are soluble in alcohol, if the floor is what needs to be deodorized do a test spot first. Apply alcohol, then suck up with wet-vac, then rinse with water and suck up again. After it dries, apply some baking soda or boraxo for a while to absorb more scent, and after you vacuum it apply some more until it's sufficiently reduced.

If it's just in the air, use febreeze and burn some long-lasting unscented candles, they will burn up the airborn scent.

  3. try alittle bit of bleach rubbed into the spilled spots , not to much though.

also try rubbing it off with vinegar

  4. you dont keep glass bottles filled with liquids in a bag, you keep them sitting on a vanity desk or whereever.

what should you be worried perfume smells good! well anyways it will take quite a while for the smell to go away

  5. You could try Fe-breeze spray to get rid of the smell.  You could also try using using baking soda.  Sprinkle it on the carpet and then vacuum it up.  It might help.

  6. well the best way i know of is pepper black pepper are also try http://www.googleitt.com for info hope this helps

  7. Go to the area of the actual spill and put baking powder on it, lightly spray some vinegar around in the air, leave the windows open. that should do the job.

  8. Spray water where it spilt? Maybe some carpet cleaner if it got on the carpet. Clean you windows and vacuum and c**p, it will drain it out eventually.

  9. You need a skunk to go in and un-freshen the place up for you sounds like.

  10. Just get a cloth or something and flap it up and down

pour water on it as well! Thats my opinion but you should look at this site! http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/cle...

  11. baking soda on the spill should take care of the worst of it

  12. You can pour some baking soda onto the bottom of your closet floor and open a few very large bags or several smaller bags of cat litter or charcoal and place them all over the house and about three or four in the closet. This will soak up the smell and after a week or so you can toss them and replace if necessary.  Just cut a slit in the long part of the bag about 3 inches wide by nearly the length of the bag in order to allow the odors in so they can be trapped.

  13. LOL!! rinse the bag with soap water

  14. get free breeze in the laundry smell. and keep on opening up the windows.

  15. it may be in the carpet...I hope you put the garbage outside where it won't smell anymore, or you're never gonna get rid of the smell..

this is gonna sound weird, but -I- do it all the time...

soak a tea towel (white towel, bath or kitchen) in white vinegar. wring it out, then walk around your house/apt swinging it around your head to move the air around and the smell INTO the towel. Yes it works. then wash the towel...

  16. First thing to do is not to call 311 lol

take some clorox and mop it around ur house

then take some mistolin or fabuloso and mop it with that too

    get an airwick refreshinair  and

    buy like 3 scents

    hope it helped

  17. Carpet cleaner.

  18. Try setting out pans of water with vinegar to absorb the smell.

  19. Maybe spread a little vinegar on the areas hit with perfume.
