Getting served papers

my roomate called me this morning and told me that cops from the sheriff came looking for me so i the sheriffs office to find out why caz im not in town and they said it was for a summons to court. So im wondering now are they gonna keep coming to my house everyday or do i need to go down to pick it up from them caz i wont be back for another 2 weeks anyway. this is in atlanta by the way.

you need to let them know that you are not in town. Ask them for a fax number or an email address where you can let them know that you are away and have proof

You need to go ahead and pick it up.  You don't want the appearance of avoiding service (although you aren't) in court.  Prosecutors have a way of using anything and everything against you if they can.
