  1. You should start by looking for local corporations. Present a platform (in person), why you're going, why they should sponsor you, give an incentive (like free car washes from the students to every employee), make things easier for them, offer to help them in every step of the process, get the media involved: call your local news stations and propose a news story, ie: "Company X Makes Ends Meet for Local Student's Trip to Abroad". Something catchy like that. It'll be GREAT advertisement for their company. Don't go to any franchises, they're no good at this stuff, things ALWAYS have to get approved by headquarters which could take forever. Work with local Ma & Pa offices. Most importantly, have fun with it! And don't forget to be aggressive, companies need to see that you really want this for them to hand over a couple thousand dollars. Companies LOVE reaching out to the public, it gives them a good reputation. Start with local travel agencies, then move to other "travel" and/or "tourism" companies. The Yellow Pages will be your best friend on this journey.

    Good luck!
