Question:

Getting teeth cleaned with sedation dentistry..

So I really need to get my teeth cleaned.. I haven't been the to dentist in a really long time.. but I am scared to death! I had some traumatic dental experiences when I was younger and it always hurt.. I've been reading about the "anxiety-free dentistry" and I am just curious if the pill really works and if its worth it.. they always gave me laughing gas and it never helped.. I doubt the pill would help me either.. and I cant stand the thought of needles, especially in my mouth.. my only options are the IV or the pill.. does anyone know if any dentists sedate for teeth cleanings? and if so, which works better? I know this sounds really childish, but I don't think I can get my teeth cleaned with out being sedated. I want to be completely asleep if possible.. can anyone give me more information about this??

and also how much would this cost? just an estimate..

  1. they don't sedate for cleanings but as long ask your willing to pay the price they'll do it.. oral sedation is on average $400.. it completely puts you to sleep though, i don't recommend oral sedation for a cleaning, they don't hurt
