Question:

Getting that first real job?

I am a recent college graduate from The Ohio State University with a BSBA with a focus on marketing. Essentially I was a marketing major. So I graduated in June and the job search thing is going terrible. I realize this economy we are in isn't the greatest time to be looking for a good job but I have to believe I didn't just waste 5 years of my life getting a useless piece of paper. All the online job places are full of ridiculous door to door sales jobs. Anything with marketing in the title is either some scam or requires a bunch of experience. I made the mistake of not taking an internship during my schooling so the experience bit is my bad. I know it isn't my place right now to be picky but I don't think it is too much to ask to have an entry level Monday through Friday office job. Where are all these jobs at? How does a recent college grad go about getting them? Any help is much appreciated.

Take a look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics' "Occupational Outlook Handbook".  It's a great resource for career planning.
