  1. to get an interview you need a resume and cover letter that is professional and sticks out.  Don't forget to spell check multiple times because many employers see more than one error (spelling or grammar) and they will just toss the resume.  Especially in a place such as costco, best buy, target etc that have 20 applications a day coming into them.  If there is a job gym or something around you that helps people perfect these skills I'd bring your resume there and get them to help make sure you are doing it right.  Don't forget when mentioning what you did at your job jobs in the past are in past tense (i.e. WASHED the floors) and if you are still working a job it is present tense (WASH the floors).  This is a big mistake a LOT of people make and employers HATE this.

Good luck! and don't get frusterated.  Even with a perfect resume some places just aren't hiring.  Some take forever to contact people and some may just not be interested in your previous experience.  Someone will grab you for an interview and then you get the chance to blow them off their seats!!!

    good luck again!
