  1. Sorry, but I don't want a learning disabled doctor.

  2. You should get in touch with the disability services at your college. They provide academic and emotional support to students who have a learning disability. By talking to a psychologist who specializes in learning disabilities, you'll have a clearer idea whether your career goals are realistic. I don't know what your specific disability is so I can't comment on whether or not you can go to med school. Good luck!

  3. It depends on the learning disability that you have.  If you have dyslexia for instance, you can get your books on tape or CD through an organization called RFB&D (Reading for the Blind & Dyslexic)  That and alot of hard work should get  you through.  I have a friend who's daughter is studying to be a math teacher, and she's been on an IEP most of her life.

If you have a LD where you don't remember the days lecture by the time you get home, tape recording and listening over and over might help.  If you can't retain the information though, you're likely not going to be successfull.

I recently read a story in Readers Digest of a man, brain damaged in an accident, who went on to become an anesthesiaologist.  It was alot of hard work he said, taking 9 hours to comprehend a 1 hour lecture.  His name is Adam Blomberg, MD
