Getting title and registration?

How do I get a title and registration for a vehilce my roommate gave me for last month rent with out the title in South Carolina? I can't get him on the phone and only know he moved to somewhere in Fl. Please help me?

Sorry, but you are out of luck. You really need to get in touch with your old roomy. You need that title from him.

Usually the back of the title is used to sign the vehicle over to you.  If you didn't do this, and you can't locate him now, you probably need to try to get an abandoned vehicle title from the state in your name.

You (non-owner) cannot get a replacement title.  Only the current owner (your ex-roommate) can get a title and sign it over to you.

The most you can do is to part it out (sell the car part by part).
