I'm new to the area, and I wanted to know-- is it possible to get a cab from Grand Central to take you to Laguardia? What are other ways of getting there? I know that there's a bus-- but where is the pick up for that bus? Thanks in advance :)

  1. Yes, taxi is flag system and taxi always come to Grand Hyatt and taxi stand located on north side of 42nd St.

$12 New York Airport bus service leaves from east side of Park Av bet. 41st & 42nd Sts adjusted to ticket mobile (NYAS ticket office is closed due to Explosion that occured on Lex Av)

If you mean mass transit, you must do following.

You could take Queens-bound (7) local or PM <7> express.

    (7) local take you to 74th St-Broadway, and follow Q33/Q47 sign.

Q33 takes you to Terminal D to B while Q47 only goes to Marine Air Terminal. Q33 is first lane outside the station.

If you miss that or if you got on express, no problem.

Get off at Junction Blvd and adjusted to elevator, Q72 makes same stop as Q33 in airport.

If you miss again, no problem.

Q48 LGA makes all terminals stop Terminal D to A (Marine Air) and stops on Shea Stadium side on Willets Point, or last stop, Flushing-Main St on SW corner.

You may also take uptown 4/5 express  or (6) local to 125th St, use SE exit, and M60 LGA All Terminals will leave from SE side by PATHMARK.

You may transfer from (6) to (E) at 51st-53rd Sts/Lex Av for Queens-bound (E) to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av for Q33/Q47 bus.

  2. If you are two or three people traveling together then you might consider a cab as an alternate to the express bus.  II would go for public transportation by taking the #7 train to 74th street, Roosevelt Ave where you can pick up a bus link directly to LaGuardia, the #33 bus.

  3. There is a bus directly across the street from the entrance to Grand Central under the overpass.

I've used them a few times.  Infinitely more convenient than dragging your stuff on city buses or the subway and much much cheaper than a cab.  Just leave yourself more time that you think you'll need.  I always cut it too close.
