  1. Maybe you need a faster internet package, your internet is experiencing a little downtime, someone on your network is downloading a movie and this will take up alot of bandwidth, have you restarted your modem and router lately, have you ran a spyware and virus scan lately and windows vista as nothing to do with this problem.

To fix the problem you can try this:- close internet explorer, click on start, control panel, internet options, advanced, restore advanced settings, apply, then ok.

Or, in the same window click on general, delete, delete all, (check) also delete files and settings stored by add-ons,yes.

  2. u MAY have too many programs running. disable them thru services.msc or msconfig.exe

in before remove vista and install xp posts! :D

  3. A few common reasons for your problem there.

    1) Your computer hardware specs are too lousy. If you haven't changed your computer after 5 years, it probably is outdated. Technology changes everyday, and Vista is a pretty resouce-intense operating system (OS) compared to XP. If this is the issue, there is no other way to fix this other than getting better hardware (or reverting back to older OS)

    2) You have network drives connected to your computer.  If you have ever put your machine on a network and connected to a shared drive, this can slow you down too. If you have a drive that is still mapped, but cannot be reached it will slow down windows during boot time. This is because windows will wait...wait...and wait some more for the remote server to respond. To clean these out open "My Computer" and go to the tools menu. Click on "Disconnect Network Drives"and disconnect the drives that you do not require.

    3) You have too many startup programs. Are there many programs starting up automatically when you turn on your computer? That is a very likely source of your problem. Please go to "Run" and type in 'msconfig' (without the quotes). Go to the Startup tab and if you know what you are doing, uncheck some of the programs that you don't need.

    4) You have been infected by malware (which includes viruses, trojans, spyware, rootkits, adware, etc). These will slow down your computer as they do lots of things in the background like 'phoning' back home to its creators. If you think this is a possibility, I HIGHLY suggest you use ParasiteDB Disinfection Service:

They are good, cheap and reliable, and will give you a full refund if you do not get your problems solved.

I hope the above helped. It took me quite some time to compose my reply.
