I'm trying to find the best way to get to northeastern university either using the riverside station or going on the commuter rail at auburndale. Which way would be faster and how is the parking at either of those stations?

  1. auburndale to back bay station and switch to the forest hills orange line to ruggles and walk up forsyth street towards Northeastern University

  2. Actually, if you are in the Norumbega area of Newton, which you seem to be, it might be easiest, depending on the time, to catch the Needham Line commuter rail at Hersey.  Many of the Needham Line trains stop at Ruggles, which is smack in the center of Northeastern.

Otherwise either follow Sparkle 3's directions for using the Riverside Green Line, or take the Worcester Line commuter rail from Auburndale to Back Bay.  Switch at Back Bay to the Orange Line for Ruggles (2 stops).

  3. riverside to arlington switch over to E line to northeastern...tons of parking at riverside
