Question:

Getting to sleep...night before vacation?

Tomorrow I leave for vacation! I am really excited for it this year.

Usually before I go on vacation I have bad insomnia and trouble getting to sleep. Do you have any tips to help me get to sleep?

  1. i guess this is late to answer but i wanted to say maybe you could read in your bed or go on yahoo answers until you get super tired and then youll be able to fall asleep easier...or fall asleep watching tv...that might help

  4. There are certain relaxation techniques you can use, such as clenching and unclenching each muscle in your body, one by one.

    Developing a routine before you sleep will also help you turn off your mind sooner. Start reading for a while in bed beforehand, for example. Your brain will start to recognize this routine, and it should help.

    As for short-term tricks, I'd recommend reading in bed, getting a light snack, and even counting sheep. (It's worth a try, right?)

    Also, try showering before bed. Going to sleep is easier when you're clean, because you'll be more comfortable.

    Or exercise before you go to bed, because that usually gets me pretty tired.
