Getting traffic to my forum?

hello everyone, i've just started a new forum "Technologypublic Forum" @ http://tpforum.net84.net

and was wondering...how can i get traffic and users to join my forum, aside from having 6 registered users, is there any good way of advertising my forum? i tired using this method of advertising my forum:

Do some good SEO on your website. You will get good traffic once your site is listed on first page of major search engines.

There are several ways you can get traffic to your forum:

1) Buying Links

i) The reason for this is to get backlinks to your website so it will be noticeable on the Search Engine. You can buy links at Text-Link-Ads.com. I've used their service before and it was quite good.

ii) Buy links from website owners which have high targeted traffic to their blog. This technique I used for quite some time now and it works tremendously is by buying (asking) them to link back to your site from the homepage.

2) Article Marketing

Write several articles regarding your niche and submit it to Top article directories (you can check out the resource section for the link). Make sure your signature have something to offer for the readers to click on your link.

3) Online Communities

i) Social Bookmarking - Use the power of Social Bookmarking sites StumbleUpon.com, EbaumsWorld.com, Reddit.com, and so much more. Choose your tag wisely so that people will find your website link and make sure you put an interesting description when you bookmark.

ii) Social Networking - Sites like Facebook.com allow you to put your website link in the profile, so you better make full use of it. Check out other social network sites that has this functionality.

Make the forum smaller. It will make you look bigger. Like you look like an abandoned forum with so many forum rooms but with NO post in them.

What you want to do is social media marketing to get people to find it. SEO is good and you should do some but it will take a long time to get your site to rank.

You need to make the forum smaller to start with. You want to get some people posting and then find the hot topics and move them to their own forum.

Join as different members and get some discussions going on. Make it interesting. Even if you have to start by being ten different people.

Join some other forums and participate in those. Make friends and try and drive traffic back to your forum.
