  1. They should use a needle and stainless steel ring or stud, not an 'ear' stud with a gun.  Use peroxide & saline to clean it.

  2. just make sure they do it with a needle!! If they come near you with a regular ear piercing gun to do it - run!

I had mine done with a ring because it did swell a fair bit, and I felt the ring allowed for more room for it to swell. Thats just my personal preference though.

Never had any problems sleeping on the side I had it done, but thats because I heal from piercings very fast - if you are a slow healer, consider getting it put on the opposite side from which you sleep. I have a lot of friends who were miserable for months after having it done because they couldnt get comfy in bed.

    HTH

  3. for "squealy..." the first answer,

the tragus is the small piece of thick cartilage of the external ear that is immediately in front of the ear canal

  4. Dont get it on the side you sleep on & dont worry if it dosnt heal after a few months, it can take a long time.

  5. Well, I guess it would be helpful to know where your tragus is.

  6. it doesnt hurt

    only for a split second.

    and when its healing....

    it might take 3 weeks.
