Getting video off of my HDD camera without USB?

I have a JVC GZ-MG27U HDD camcorder. For some odd reason all computer decided to stop recognizing the camera. I'm guessing that I burnt out the USB port on it. But anyway, is there any other way to get it onto my computer? Maybe some kind of A/V adapter? Or maybe this port (http://i29.tinypic.com/mauxpy.jpg) can connect to my video card for import? I've tried to copy video onto an SD card, but it only lets me copy pictures.

  1. If you go the route of AV adaptor, the ones made by Adaptec are the best. Adaptec videoh, gamebridge ect..........

Many of the other brands are c**p!

your pic is of the s-video port

  2. Vcam hdd contains digital files (not video stream) like an internal pc hard disk and shud be recognized thru file mgmt-Windows Explorer. Use another USB cable to double check if hardware is the problem.

Also check if installed usb devices & drivers are working properly=> go to control panel/ system maintenance device manager/ view hardware devices/ usb controllers.

It's complicated to use S-video (image) & rca/audio cable plus another video capture app to capture the video stream while vcam is on playback. It's like going back to analog.
