  1. What does your perscription say? If the perscription says that it's too much, then don't take so many. I remember when I got my teeth pulled, I was dependant upon the meds for a few days, but after that found other ways of soothing the soreness in conjunction with the meds such as pressure (biting down on something soft) and warm liquid.

Also, remember that you won't need the same number of meds every day since the soreness decreases every day.

  2. Well, you should be taking one Vicodin every four to six hours. So about 4 to 5 Vicodins a day is fine. If it's not doing the job for you, add 3 Motrins along with your Vicodin. This will further help with the pain and help with the swelling too.

  3. Are you on a prescription? What is the recommended dosage? Most medications give warnings about how much to take, what not to take them with, etc. You can take other painkillers that should take down the swelling and kill the pain, without the side effects of Vicodin. Ask your dentist.

  4. My prescription said to take one pill every four to six hours.  Call your dentist for suggestions.  Gently swishing warm salt water in your mouth and gently spitting it out will reduce the inflamation in the gums which causes some of the pain.  Repeat every four hours.  Also, eating ice cream will help.  Let it sit in your mouth around the area until it melts.

  5. f your perscription says to do that then do it otherwise possibly a smidgeee to muhc lol =]
