  1. I wouldn't be worried about it. You'll be numbed anyway. I would just take a tylenol afterward.

  2. Hey!!

I just had a different oral surgery. They did takeout some teeth tho!

    I'm still hurting.

It's not a huge deal, but It can be uncomfortable. Take some tylenol and drink lots of shakes and cold things. (It keeps it from bleeding. Warm stuff makes it bleed more. BE CAREFUL! No straws!)

Dont mess with it and try to get a lot of sleep! I had a breakdown this morning and IDK why!!( horemones or lac of sleep. Or food.)

Anyway, just take it easy and you'll be fine!! If you have andy biggie ?s, talk to the Doc who gave ya the pain!! He'll have all the answers!

    Good luck !

  3. I had all four removed in one day that were impacted ....and it was done in the office. They will give you some pain medication to get filled, but that is up to you on how you feel what the RX is. Do take 800 mg of Motrin ( 4 over the counter tabs) about 45 minutes before you go...WITH A MAJORLY FULL STOMACH !!!!! You will not feel like eating when you get done.  BUT as I have told members of my family who also had this done is to take regular old tea bags you buy at the store , run them under warm/hot water to moist them up. Put them in the back of your mouth where your wisdom teeth were and gentle bite down for a few minutes. This was told to me by my doctor and ALL my family members say it helped alot.  Tea has a natural herb that brings swelling down.   GOOD LUCK

  4. NOPE- no big deal at all anymore. Routine stuff now a days. In advance get this long ice packs- they actually make this you can buy at walmart or something like that to wrap around your knee - but they work great wrapping around your face. Have them ready when you come home and auto.ly put those on your cheeks to decrease the swelling. I think it's like 4 hours on, 1 off. And do that for like 24 hours. Also have plently of mashed potatoes (cooled off of course), jello, pudding, and other soft foods stocked and ready for you- although you're not going to eat much. And you can't have anything real hot/cold and no straws- that stuff don't help the bleeding issue and allow you to heal. And keep the pain pills they give you at close hand taking them like the doctor recommends. There is some pain involved but it'll pass....esp.ly if you can have a mom or dad, sis or bro, even just a good friend around to help you with ice packs and fixing foods. just relax and take it easy....it's surgery but man sounds like you've been thru worse and survived it so i doubt you have anything to worry 'bout. TAKE CARE and good luck!

  5. my dad got his wisdom teeth pulled out and he said it was painless

  6. Hey! I had all foir pulled out as well. Don't be nervous! :] After your surgery you may feel some pain but they will give you medication for that. Eat soft food like mashed potatoes and soup. Your cheeks may becoem swollen but the swelling should come down in a few days.

  7. What to Expect during recovery

1: 2-3 hours later, the anesthesia wears off and the h**l begins. Swelling also begins. in order to prevent swelling-

BUY FOUR i said FOUR ice packs. use two using both hands, while the other two are in the FREEZER getting cold again. Ice for 1 hour, rest for 25 minutes. Repeat till you go to sleep that night. BY the way, try not to spit.

2: you will probably keep bleeding for 4-6 hours. Make sure to clamp down on gauze for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes each time you decide to change it out. Make sure to use firm pressure. (drizzling cooled fluid from a tea bag onto the gauze may help clot the wounds up slightly quicker)

3: for the first 24 hours u probably shouldn't brush your teeth. rinsing may increase the chances of ur blood clot to fall out.

4: DO NOT USE A STRAW, try not to sneeze, cough, and restrain from strenuous labor. Like when ur going #2, dont push hard, that can also cause ur blood clots to fall out.

5: obviously take all the medications ur Dentist tells you to take.

6: when swallowing, swallow with ur mouth open. That decreases the suction within your mouth that can cause ur blood clot to fall out.

7: After 24 hours, you may try gargling with lukewarm salt water. After 48 hours, you may try brushing ur teeth again. Again, rinse verY VERY CAREFULLY.

8: Buy Boost nutritional drinks. When served cold, its not too bad and its packed with nutrition..

(i lived off Boost for two days straight after my extractions)

    (and water)

9: Do not use commercial mouth washes for like 72 hours. Even the ones without alcohol in it. it can irritate ur blood clots.

10: don't be nervous. Just prepare for some pain (during recovery) the operation itself is painless. Only some pressure.

If they put you to sleep then u won't feel anything obviously.

11: The reason why u dont wanna unclog ur blood clots is because you put urself at risk of something called a "Dry socket".- its a complication that happens 3-4 days after the procedure. You'll feel moderate to severe pain in the affected sockets, the sides of ur jaw, and towards ur ear canal. You'll taste something nasty, and there will be a putrid smell emitting from the socket. If this happens to you, immediately see ur dentist. Its treatable.

12: dont smoke for a couple weeks after the procedure. smoking increases the chances of getting dry sockets. You probably shoudn't drink either. Alcohol will irritate the blood clots.

13: o yea, dont eat nething warm or hot. the temperature will break apart your blood clots. Especially soup obviously.

Stick with the boost. Best way to go. has protein too, so you shouldn't lose too much muscle mass during ur recovery.
