  1. Why don't you breastfeed your baby?  It is the best thing for both of you.

  2. My little boy is 14 weeks old and I started on the weight loss three weeks ago.  I've lost 7 pounds so far.

Cut out chocolate, sweets, biscuits :(

Cut down on bread, cakes, potatoes, crisps

    No chips

It's tough going, this is my third baby and my belly is not being very forgiving.

I walk every day if I can.

  3. I didnt start to trying to loss baby weight untill my children were 6wks old, then i joined a weight loss program & the gym, i went to the gym 9 times a wk & managed to get rid of my baby fat in just 5 wks, i never felt better, & really was a yummy mummy. And congrats on the birth of your addition.

  4. well breastfeeding will help you ALOT! also u need to watch what ur eating and make sure u get a lot of fluid down you, avoid carbs and eat as much steamed veg as possible, lots of fish, maybe swimming few times a week and all the running around ur kids should do the trick! good luck xx

  5. your midwife is right, give yourself time. Dont even look at skinny celeb mums, they have nothing else to do but work out 8 hours a day ! Eat sensibly, enough but not too much . Being a new mum is demanding work, so you need fuel. go walking with pram, fresh air & exercise. Don't give youself a hard time, it'll happen.

  6. Hmm I lost a LOT of weight after my son was born, but I was breastfeeding and I think that does make a difference.  I dropped from a pre-pregnancy size 12-14 to a 6-8 and it looked awful - I was so skinny and ill looking!  My son is 18 months old now and I'm just starting to get back up to a 10-12!!

I would agree with your midwife though - it is not the time to start dieting with a 2 week old baby to look after!  You're going to be knackered, plus your body is still recovering from giving birth and you need to trear yourself kindly,

Don't even think about diets until you've seen your Dr for your 6 week check . . .

  7. Walking is REALLY good. I didn't drive anywhere unless I was going to go further than a half hour walk.

I didn't breastfeed my little boy but I found going for walks with him in his pram once I was able to really helped to shift the weight.

It also made me feel good as I was able to finally take back some independence!

I lost all the baby weight within 6 months, and my tummy is now starting to flatten again with the exercises I've been doing (I do 50 sit ups a night before going to bed.)

My baby son is now 9 months old and I'm just under the weight I was when I conceived. (I'm 9 stone and I'm 5'2)

Don't rush yourself or put unnecessary pressure on to lose the weight, just take your time and do it slowly, this way you're less likely to put the weight back on.
