The actual piercing varies from person to person. I found it did hurt, but it's bearable (like most piercings). The worst part is how much you think it's going to hurt. An experienced piercer will walk you through the procedure and help to keep you calm. I found that the first week or two of healing was uncomfortable. You don't realize how many times you bump your chest in a day until you have fresh piercings to deal with.
