Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan commits future to English Premier League side Sunderland

It has been reported that fellow Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City are interested in signing the forward.
The sides stepped up their chase when they were informed that the player had been made available for transfer in this summer’s transfer window.
However, Gyan made it very clear he wished to remain at the Stadium of Light and that he was “fully committed” to the Black Cats.
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn also rejected claims that the player was for sale and revealed he hoped Gyan would continue on with the club.
Gyan said in an interview:
“I am not leaving Sunderland and I am not interested in these rumours in the newspapers and on the internet.
I am fully committed to Sunderland because I http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466 the institution and traditions of this club.”
The Ghanaian continued:
“I am staying at Sunderland next season and for the foreseeable future and I am looking forward to meeting my team-mates and Sunderland fans when we return next month.”
Gyan arrived at Sunderland for a club record breaking fee of £13 million from Ligue 1 side Rennes, in the summer transfer window of 2010.
During his first season at the club, Gyan made a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 33 appearances for the Black Cats in all competitions, finding the back of the net 11 times.
Gyan began his senior career at Liberty Professionals in 2003 and after a short spell at his local Ghanaian side; he transferred to Serie A side Udinese.
His move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 was not quite what he had hoped for, as he was loaned out to Serie B side Modena in 2004, where he spent the next two years.
After impressing in the second tier, Gyan was recalled to Udinese, where he stayed until the end of the 2008 season, making 39 appearances in the league and scoring 11 goals.
It was after his spell at the Serie A outfit that he transferred to Rennes, and after 47 appearances in Ligue 1, Gyan decided on a move to the English Premier League.
