Ghost Hunting question..I need to be reassured something please?

There is a small stretch of HWY here in AZ that is haunted by a dozen or so pioneer ghosts. People have reported seeing up to 20 ghosts dressed in old pioneer clothing at the same time walking along the Hwy. I am going to investigate this around 12am-3am. I know a ghost can not harm a human because you will just walk right through them. I want to use the white light method not only for my protection if needed, but to send these ghosts to The Other Side..So what Do I do and how do I do it?

I would recommend like they said take a friend. Spirits can only harm you if you let them. This seems to be more of a residual haunting. Do they seem to re-act to the cars going by? Residual haunting's are like clock work also. They follow a pattern so if you can get the pattern down you might be able to catch something. Good luck. Yes be sure to take a camera or two and come back here and tell us where we can see the photos.  This is a science section, so presenting your evidence would be good.

  But if this venture yields no results, we might get one thing out of it: the answer to the age-old question, "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

have you thought everything out before you start deciding other peoples destinations?what about doing a investigation on the history and eras your going to change historically?You did'nt mention if you were involved in any other way except for a three hour "lets test the spirit sweep"?why would you even  do this without the knowledge,experience,and above all the audacity to think that they even want your help....Theres so many different kind of  elements to this subject,  and since this has been going on for hundreds of years,There could be  hauntings,spirits,phenomenon,and some times evil.this isn't some kind of a game your playing,and you could get yourself into all kinds of trouble,playing on this field!seek professionals in the field before you do anything,and that means town documents,historians,libraries,town maps etc.Also check it out with your local paranormal investigators because they probably already know about its location...and since this has been going on for several hundred years,,,,,why have you decided that its time for them to cross over?residuals are'nt going anywhere ......its a rerun! please think befor you react on this one????????????and please use the buddy system when documenting any activity;you could be and sound like you could use more education on the matter.be safe and smart.........blessed be.

This sounds more like a residual haunting to me rather than an intelligent haunting so there may not be anything there to crossover...  residual haunting is more like an energy that gets played over and over like a dvd only it is just energy.

There is a theory about this type of apparition, that they are not spirits. This is just an illusion caused by light rippling though time, like ripples in a pond. This type of apparition does not seem to respond or be aware of living people, they just continue to do what they are doing. Perhaps some emotional stress or extreme hardship could cause the equivelent of throwing a rock into the time pond.

The light would then travel through time, periodically showing up.

Like the previous answerer, I also recommend going with a friend. Not to protect yourself from ghosts, but just in case anything happens (you trip and hurt yourself, get hit by a car god forbid, etc.)  The friend can also corroborate anything you see and will make your story stronger, if you indeed see anything.

Don't use white light. It will destroy your night vision. Use red lights to guide your way. And bring a video camera with you or a good digital still camera. A tripod will be handy because your still camera is going to have very slow shutter speed doing photography in the dark and you'll get blurry images. Have fun!

As I read your ? I thought of a few of my own...1st, please do not attempt any investigation alone.  If you have never been involved in an investigation it would be safer for you to take at least one other person that does have that experience and as always there is safety in numbers.  It would be a good idea to go long before dark so that you can get familar with the climate, terrain and traffic noises before you look for paranormal activity.

Have you actually witnessed these enities?  what were they doing at the time?  Did you have any contact?

There are several ways to protect ones self before an investigation. ( one is the white light method)  I have been blessed with the gift of communication with the departed.  I have known of this gift since birth.  Only recently have I been able to use this gift in order to "hold" the light so that those who will can pass into it. It took me a while to learn.  By no means am I saying that you can't do it and I wish you luck.  But above all I wish you safety !  Please let me know how it worked for you.

Well you can feel a touch from them, in a few experiences in my group we have been bumped and grabed.   You can go earlier in the evening if you wish, 8 or 9 is fine as well.  Its still dark.   Never go alone.  Never try and send spirits to the other side alone.

Good luck with the white light thing, never have used it.  I thought it was a movie thing.

I use this method when I am doing a cleansing of a home.  

1) Remain unemotional and firm when dealing with a negative ghost, as they will feed off of your fear and make themselves stronger and more powerful (much of this is

simply in our mind - I do not believe they have any power over us, except what we give them). Just know you are in control, and speak out loud for the ghost or spirit to leave; and that they are not welcome in your home. You have nothing to fear, for fear is created in the mind. Do this firmly, yet with love.

2) Tell the spirit or ghost to seek the light, and that its physical body has perished and

it's time (and good) to leave this physical realm. Tell negative ghosts that they will see other spirits (loved ones) who are called to direct and guide them; and will be treated with love and forgiveness no matter what they've done.  Ghosts need to know that they can be affecting others negatively, and that it is time for them to move on in life and unto peace and enjoyment.

3) If they are worried about punishment, tell them that they're not sent to an eternal

"h**l," but will be shown their lives and are made to experience what they have done;  

so they can understand those things and how they have impacted themselves and

others.  They will always be treated with love and will be helped to move beyond any

self-created guilt and condemnation - through forgiveness, especially forgiveness of themselves. Be very firm in letting them know it's good for them, and time for them to go. Keep telling them this until you feel they've gone to the light, the realm of spirit -

this will help them move on.  Light is not to be feared for it is love, peace and truth.  

Darkness is "lack of understanding" and negative - false.

My first thought in protecting myself from ghosts is the realization that they do not exist, and then the need for said protection is a moot point. Good luck, and watch out for the Grey's, they are real. I was abducted, and when they brought me back, they made my d**n cat disappear.

I agree with the other answers...go with another person, for you own safety. I also would like to know...where is this stretch of highway? I am located in AZ and have not heard of this.  Be careful and have fun. But PLEASE go with someone else.  :)

Well first of all is safety. Go in a group (at least 3), get flashlights and reflective vests if you are going to be along a dark section of highway. Keep in mind law enforcement may stop and have you move along.  keep in mind that they might not even be ghosts. This could just be a residual haunting. That is where an event from the past replays itself over and over like a movie and no spirits are even present. You must also keep in mind that you do not know who else may be out there driving by.

If the area is really isolated and not heavily travel it could be dangerous. The living is far more dangerous that any type of ghost. If you know a person with a concealed weapons permit (keep it legal) have them carry and go with you for protection. They do not need to believe or participate, only to be there just in case.

Also, let's correct your thinking here: just because you can walk through them does not mean a ghost "cannot" harm a human --- the correct verbiage is MAJORITY of ghosts "WILL NOT" hurt a human...it has to do with rules and regulations.

The difference is very slight but very distinct...there are a few renegades out there so you should understand things correctly.

My question would be if you don't know how to assist one to the other side why all of a sudden now do you think you need to? What'd you do, place a bet?
