Hi , I took a image of a place i happened to be walking through . It was in day-light when i took this image and no-one human or animal was in shot when it was taken . I was SHOCKED when i saw that later that day when i got home and looked at the image there was a mist by the steps , the image was took just after i walked down the very same steps .

Here is the photo :

http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll244/bambi8002/070308_110629.jpg?t=1218124380

As you see , the mist is jagged like at the top and does not seem to touch the floor . Remember i just walked down the steps , turned back , and took the photo , NOTHING living was in the shot of the camera and the mist was not there when i took the image ? Also there was no direct light on this spot and no flash on the camera .

Please give help , NO SILLY/STUPID ANSWERS please . Is this a ghost ? maybe something else ? Help !

Thank you

  1. i honestly dont know what im supposed to be looking at????

  2. No, not a ghost. Looks more like it could be an elemental spirit there is another one, possible a tree elemental just to the left of the steps. You can clearly see a green tree face just above the fence line. Especially if you zoom in. (or it could just be a pattern the leaves make.)

  3. Creepy keep clicking away....love to see more.

  4. This is Creepy. i think it is.

  5. Maybe its just the camera

  6. the most likely answer is: a woman was behind you walking quietly and you photographed her on the stairs...if you didn't notice her when you took this you wouldn't have thought to call to her and ask her if she minded being photographed...if you were using a conventional camera (NOT digital) there is a slight possibility of this being a double exposure...if you really want to know, go to a local PD and ask them for a contact with your local CSI...the photo experts there can verify the image physics (things like light diffusion and opacity) and would be able to give you some sort of conclusive answer IF you could get someone to review the image...also go back to this sight with a pair of binoculars and see if you notice this object as reflection of some sort on the stairs...

  7. Possibly. You could try researching what ghosts would look like to see if yours is 'real'

  8. There is currently no evidence to support the notion that ghosts exist.

    none.

People experience strange things all the time, just because they can't explain what happened does not mean it was a ghost. We are very limited in our perceptions and can easily be fooled (ask magicians).

With photography; lighting, shadows, dust, insects, our own imaginations - you name it - all can play tricks on us.

I see what, at face value, looks to be light reflecting through the trees. (and sure I could be mistaken, but even that that doesn't mean it's a ghost)

  9. Hello, well isn't this just an exciting thing to see. Three of us here at home saw the image and agree that it is a spirit or ghost. You are correct in your thinking of the image, at least to us, and our opinion of it.

I'll tell you about my mother's experience and all of us who have seen it. My mom has recently taken up photography as her hobby. Anyway, my mom lives in the middle of nowhere in the north woods of Wisconsin. Anyway, she has taken a lot of pictures in her back yard and in every one of them there are ghosts or spirits they all seem to be from the 1800 hundreds. There are a lot of children in these pictures. Also animals, Indians, other people, skeletons, and more. This is totally cool in my book. Bring me more!!!!!!

  10. Yes, it does resemble a ghost, but all it will take is one critic to say it's a trick of the sunlight and your photo will be discredited.

  11. Oh wow! thats an interesting photo uve got there! well, to me it looks like youve got a ghost here! that is sooooo cool cause im a ghost photographer! i try to capture ghosts on camera! you are sooo lucky! not lots of people actually get to catch a ghost on camera! congrats!

  12. Wow, it really looks like a ghost of like maybe a woman wearing like a nightgown walking up those stairs. Thats very creepy.

  13. I can't see schit? In between the two white posts on the steps? All I see is something that vaguely resembles a gray trash can.

No, I'm pretty sure it's some kind of thrown away steel/aluminum object. Still much like a trash can to me.

Dude, it ain't see-through. It just has pale dirt marks on it. It even has a light reflection streak on the top. I'm most certain this is NOT a ghost. I bet if you return to the same location, you'd feel rather foolish when you see it's there.

  14. Omg thats freaky .. it does look like a ghost :/

  15. I have to admit, that is strange. It looks like a real object because you can see the dappled sunlight reflecting off it. It looks like a cylinder with a jagged top. Below is a magnified and contrast increased image of it.

Assuming this was taken with a digital camera, I would send the image to the manufacturer and ask them if there is anything in the software in their camera that could create this on an image.

I don't think you can be accused of faking it, because if you wanted to fake a ghost I'm sure you would have made it look at least a little bit human!

    Edit:

It's possible that the light that appears to be reflecting off the "object" is actually coming from the steps. In that case the "object" would be just a lighter patch in the image. I thought it might be a lens flare caused by the two brightly lit posts, but if so there would be two of them.

Could be a camera software artifact, or an insect flew past your lens. It is weird that it appears right on the stairs though!

    Edit:

The jagged top is actually the edge of an oak leaf. That means it is not a camera artifact. That leaves us with a real object on the steps, or something lighting up the centre of the steps.

  16. OMG the second I saw that it gave me major chills and I am still experiencing them.  I would say- due to my instinctual reaction- yes this is a ghost you captured!  Wow you should submit it to one of those online sites with ghost pictures.  Also- looks like a man, strikes me as a priestly figure like you'd see walking through a church.  Was this near a graveyard?
