Ghost knife compatibility

Hey,

Just wondering what fish are good to put with ghost knifes?

iva heard they can be a bit aggresive but in my experiences ive never noticed anything serious .

  1. Black Ghost Knifefish are large nocturnal predators, they will pick off smaller fish during the night so should not be housed with small shoaling fish like tetras. Nor should they be kept with aggressive fin nippers as they themselves can become the victim, such as aggressive cichlids or tiger barbs. Generally, anything smaller than 4" should not be kept with this fish, a BGK gets to about 15"-20", although 20" is rare in captivity.

    Keep with larger peaceful robust fish that share the same water parameter requirements such as larger gourami species (opaline, moonlight), tinfoil barbs, larger cyprinids and characins, even discus can work. It all depends on your tank size, BGK's need a minimum of 65-75 US gallons (250 litres plus).
