Question:

Ghostly experience or logical solution?

My electric kettle had boiled. In front of my eyes the switch on the kettle then turned itself on again, reboiled the kettle for no more then 2 seconds then turned itself off. The switch is working fine and I've never had a problem with the kettle. Have had supernatural experience in the past in terms of dreams were dead grandparents have "appeared" and passed on messages. I realise sceptics would dismiss that, but I find it comforting to believe so choose to do so. Other than that I am naturally a sceptic myself and look for a logical answer first and foremost. Can a kettle without a fault on the switch turn itself on and off, or is this a physical supernatural experience?

  1. yes my kettle has done this but i have realised that the thermostat had bust and the kettle which was overheating had turned itself off....then when the temperature got low enough..it started back up again!!

I have been prone to supernatural phenomenon before but i think the kettle could be be something quite logical..

now the toaster...if that popped down i would say OOHOO"..

a ghost may be wanting to make you tea and toast!??

  2. wow, I don't know.

  3. some one is saying hi, just say it back that is what I done when it happened to me.

I know some will laugh at this but as I say laughter is good for you, to see is to believe, to feel is to see.

    so live and let live.

  4. I think you need a new switch

  5. GOD DID IT

  6. That is... Very strange. Has it happened more than once? Can you get it on tape? Send it to someone to examine?

Have you read the kettle's instruction manual?

  7. Could be something but not a strong sign.

When I was about 10 my sister (older) and I saw our analog kitchen clock turn its hands backwards, back about 2 hours actually. She's 32 now, did a BSc and still insists that it was somehow a normal function of the clock.

    Some people will deny ANYTHING!

  8. i think your kettle switch is a bit faulty, because i am pretty sure ghosts would not know how your kettle works.

  9. From a scientific point of view, the thing would be interesting only if the effect is reproducible. If so, please visit James Randi, you might win a million. If not, it was just a chance event.
