Ghosts and spirits and mediums in Islam?

Well, my question is that, you know how people claim to have seen ghosts, like a Muslim friend claimed to see her grandfather (dead grandfather) and you have psychics and mediums.

Well what is the Islamic stance on that? And can 'spirits/souls' be seen on earth even after death?

The islamic stance on this is that there are no such things as ghosts, ghouls..there are only jinns who some people can interact with through such as the ouijja board (true from wat i've heard) and also through other ways...normally these people are people in the wrong ( Fortune tellers etc) or imams in situations such as excorcism they can talk to the jinn. Jinns can come in many forms and decieve people... Ufo sightings, ghosts, spirits...i think are all the work of Jinns.

Lol some of the shows on T.V about mediums crack me up...

Spirits/souls can not be seen on earth.

I am not sure about Jinns.Prophet Solomon could see Jinns.They used to work for him.

no...we cannot see the jinn while we are still alive. i had an aunty in pakistan who had a "special revelation" she fell in to coma and awoke 2 months later and describes that her soul had "flown" around the heavens and she met the spirits of the deceased. i dont think it was a joke. she was a very honest woman and when she told this to the imam, she didnt seem skeptical at all.

i dont really understand all the seeing the ghosts thing. its really fascinating tho! i do believe they are around us, but i doubt we can see them!
