Ghosts or Demons? and would I be punished fo sensing them?

Me and my friends have always been able to see or sense ghosts. My mate could see them when she was little (she doesn't remember, but her mum told her it used to scare her) and her house is definately haunted. I can't be arsed to go into detail, but stuff has happened there. I have had a few dreams concerning ghosts and I have heard people calling my name when I'm falling asleep. Other stuff has happened too, but I won't go into detail. So can someone who knows about this stuff tell me if they are ghosts or really demons? and would God punish us for seeing them when we don't try to contact them, it just happens. Or is seeing the dead actually a sin?

I don't think that God will punish you for seeing them; it's if you start having more faith in them that you will find the consequences.  

PS...if you show the ghosts that you are afraid they will be more apt to intimidate you; they go after the weak, not the strong.

Well you could be seeing ghosts, we all have souls and purgatory is real and different for all souls. The damned also walk the earth because they are not yet permanently confined in the depths of h**l, but I believe you may be seeing, or hearing something and usually when there is a voice calling out in the night they are pleading for prayer. So say prayers for the souls you encounter in your dreams and in your reality because you may be making a friend that could benefit you through intercession when they finally gain entrance into the Celestrial Court of our Eternal Father.

Pray the Rosary and receive the Sacraments for the glory of God in the Highest!
