Giacomo Perez Dortona clinches Men’s 200m breaststroke title: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Giacomo Perez Dortona of CN Marseille clinched gold medal of the Men’s 200m breaststroke on fourth day of the 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Sunday, November 18.
Perez Dortona stifled hopes of his opponents in the eight-lap discipline and proved his mettle for gold medal. He remained comfortably ahead of his closest competitor from the start and cruised his way towards the finishing wall for the title.
With his persistent efforts in the eight-lap discipline, Dortona stayed prominently away from his former finisher and occupied gold medal of the event with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.01 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by William Debourges of CN Antibes, who stayed 1.53 seconds slower and secured silver medal of the event by producing a time of 2 minutes and 08.54 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Malik Fall of Stade Francais O Courbevoie, who stayed almost two and a half body lengths apart and posted a time of 2 minutes and 11.07 seconds.
Fall was followed by Thibaut Capitaine of Cergy Pontoise Natation, who was 0.55 seconds slower and pocketed an effort of 2 minutes and 11.62 seconds for fourth position.
Capitaine was trailed by Patrick Perisser of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who stayed 0.17 seconds slower from his former finisher and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 11.79 seconds.
Perisser was followed by Thomas Rabeisen of CN Antibes, who stayed 0.69 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 12.48 seconds for sixth position.
Seventh spot of the race was obtained by Clement Gudefin of EMS Bron, who was 2.02 seconds slower and concluded his race in a time of 2 minutes and 14.50 seconds.
Gudefin was followed by Kevin Dillmann of CNS Vallauris, who stayed only 0.20 seconds slower from his former finisher and concluded his race in eighth place by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 14.70 seconds.
Furthermore, Dortona expressed happiness after his victory in the 200m discipline and stressed that he would continue his hard work in order to achieve the same in future.
Maeva Couade-Courtois captures Women’s 400m IM title: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Maeva Couade-Courtois of Mulhouse On captured gold medal of the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) in 14-18 years old age group on fourth day of the 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Sunday, November 18.
Couade-Courtois devastated hopes of her opponents in the distant IM discipline as she proved her mettle for the title.
With her gruelling efforts in the initial round of the race, Couade-Courtois gained a marginal lead over her challengers and surfaced on the wall for gold medal with a timing of 4 minutes and 50.01 seconds.
The champion was followed by Marine Dekein of ASPTT Limoges, who stayed 1.98 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for silver medal with a timing of 4 minutes and 51.99 seconds.
The second fastest finisher was chased by Alizee Morel of Olympic Nice Natation, who stayed 1.29 seconds apart and tapped the wall for third position by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 53.28 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Sarah Vaisse of Amiens Metropole Natation, who stayed almost full body length behind and surfaced on the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 54.17 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Emilie Petit of Alliance Dijon Natation, who stayed more than a body length behind and posted an effort of 4 minutes and 55.49 seconds.
Similarly, Petit was traced by Clothilde Peseux of Avenir Natation Besancon, who was considerably slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 58.58 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh spot of the event was obtained by Chloe Delcamp of CSN Guyancourt, who was almost half a second behind and clocked a time of 4 minutes and 59.08 seconds.
Delcamp was traced by Emeline Biehlmann of Canet 66 Natation, who was unable to overpower any of her opponents and finished eighth in the race with a timing of 5 minutes and 02.52 seconds.
In addition, Couade-Courtois was overjoyed with her top finish in the event and collected medal and accolades at the victory ceremony of the race.
