The French swimmer stifled hopes of his opponents in the double lap breaststroke discipline as he surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal. With his unrelenting efforts, he managed to overpower his toughest challenger over the finishing end and tapped
the wall for the title.
Dortona stayed in a prominent lead over his following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 01.48 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Francesco Di Lecce of Italy, who stayed 0.46 seconds slower and hit the finishing end for silver medal with an effort of 1 minute and 01.94 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Maxime Bussiere of France, who stayed nearly two seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for bronze medallist with an effort of 1 minute and 01.94 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Geoffrey Ferrari of France, who was 0.47 seconds slower from his former finisher and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 04.60 seconds.
Fifth spot of the race was obtained by Juan Jose Garcia Mesa of Spain, who stayed almost 0.90 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 05.51 seconds.
Ferrari was followed by Stefano Ancarani of Italy, who was 0.60 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 06.11 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Simone Geni of Italy, who was 1.25 second behind and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 07.36 seconds.
Geni was traced by Nicolas Bon of France, who was almost full body length behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 08.21 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Dortona received massive admiration from the audience for his notable pace while the position holders received medals and accolades after the completion of session.
