Gian Piero Gasperini proud and surprised to be the new Inter Milan coach – Serie A Update
Former Genoa boss, Gian Piero Gasperini, has claimed that he was shocked when Inter Milan contacted him for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 of head coach at San Siro. The former midfielder is optimistic that he would help the club rebuild their reputation and is keen to have a
successful 2011/12 season in Serie A.
Former coach Leonardo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Araujo-c6435 was criticized for the shortcomings of the Nerazzurri in the previous term, and a move out of San Siro was always very likely to happen. When Paris Saint-Germain approached the Brazilian with a director role, Leonardo duly obliged
despite President Massimo Moratti having mooted such reports earlier.
Gasperini was sacked last year in November by Genoa due to the lack of consistency shown by the team in the Italian top flight. Gasperini was called upon last week after several top managers rejected the Nerazzurri advances. The arrival of the new coach
was then confirmed yesterday.
Gasperini gave an interview to the official http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan channel following his arrival at San Siro.
"I'm so proud to be here at Inter. It came as a huge surprise but now I am very ambitious and determined to do well, to have a big season." He said.
Massimo Moratti confirmed the arrival of the new tactician and welcomed him onboard the Nerazzurri outfit. While responding to Moratti’s comments, the new head coach said:
"His praise motivates me even more to have a successful season, which is what I intend to do by creating a very close-knit and strong group. But the foundations with those characteristics are already in place."
The officials and the players are all optimistic for a better run in the next season but the high-profile players like Samuel Eto’o and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 are being linked with moves out of San Siro, and that might be a problem for Inter Milan and the new tactician.
