The former manager defends himself after the Nerazzurri President blamed the club’s disappointing season on the team’s ex-boss; insists the owner is looking for a scapegoat.
Gian Piero Gasperini has spoken in response to Massimo Moratti’s statement, which claimed that former coach is actually the one responsible for Inter Milan’s disastrous campaign in the ongoing season.
The manager had a very short stint at the Milan outfit, as he was hired in the summer only to be replaced by Claudio Ranieri in September.
The tactician said that he did not consider it worthwhile to respond to Moratti. The former Juventus manager insisted that all claims of him depleting the determination of the team are absurd. He insisted that he has been the man in charge for a very short
time, and it is unfair to blame him for the progress of the team in April, as considerable time has elapsed ever since.
While talking to television show Controcampo, the legend said:
“I can’t respond to Moratti. It’s being claimed that I took the determination out of the squad, but that was in September and now we are in April. I evidently have a magic potion.”
The tactician believes that the statement of the Rossoneri president could be an attempt to find a scapegoat for the dismal season, and divert the blame from him. He insisted that it is ridiculous to blame a coach for the performance of the team 30 games
after his firing from the club. The former Nerazzurri boss insisted that the Milan president is firing the debate against the ex-coach, only because it suits his argument. The veteran slammed the executive for lacking patience.
“I don’t know if he is looking for a scapegoat, but it is his analysis if, after 30 games, I’m held responsible even if I took charge of only three of them. He’s convinced that I am to blame, but I don’t know if he’s saying that because it suits his argument.
Moratti has no patience. I’d give him one out of 10 in terms of that aspect.”
Inter Milan recently appointed Andrea Stramaccioni, their third coach of the season, to replace Claudio Ranieri, who was recently sacked by the president despite continual assurances of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 security.
The young new coach for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan has won his debut match in Serie A, with a 5-4 win over Genoa.
