The President of the FIGC has gone on to state that the sporting justice system is not at odds with the Serie A Champions, Juventus, besides the convictions.
Juventus have developed a tense relationship with the Italian football board after being indicted in several cases over the past decade. The start of this tense relationship started with the Calciopoli incident after the Turin outfit were relegated to the
Serie and docked points for allegations of corrupting the game of football.
The Italian footballing authority banned http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Moggi, who was a director at the club. He was alleged to have influenced the personnel who would be refereeing the matches of Juventus. The ban was for life, and Moggi is still appealing for the ban to be
lifted.
The verdict also stripped two Scudetto titles of the Bianconeri outfit that they won from 2004-06; and Juventus have continued to plead their innocence in the matter.
However, allegations resurfaced at the back end of last season, which coincided with Juventus being victorious in the race of lifting the Scudetto. There were allegations against the head coach of Antonio Conte, which has seen him suspended for ten months
from the game.
The suspension restricts Conte’s appearances on the bench or giving team talks at half time. The sentence of Angelo Alessio, Conte’s assistant, was of eight months, but that has been cut down to six months after an appeal. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Simone-Pepe-c33591
were both allegedly involved in the controversy, however, due to a lack of evidence; the allegations were dropped.
Andrea Agnelli has hit back at the FIGC implying that Juventus have been unfairly treated.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giancarlo-c14806 Abete, the FIGC President, has remarked that the footballing authority has nothing against the highly successful club and remarked that the club was a highly prestigious one.
In his interview with Sky Sport Italia, he was quoted to have said:
“The Federation has no reason to have a rapport of conflict with Juventus. That is true not only because of what the Bianconeri represent, but also the value of Juventus for the Nazionale.”
Juventus will be appealing against the ban handed to Antonio Conte at the CONI, and are supporting the coach that landed them their first Scudetto following the Calciopoli controversy.
