Giancarlo Stanton makes his way into All-Star Game as he becomes sole pride for Miami Marlins-MLB
Kansas City on July 10 will feature 22-year-old slugger, Giancarlo Stanton from the Miami Marlins. This Major League Baseball season has seen him hurling homers.
He has even defied larger fields, hitting equally gigantic home-runs wherever he has been getting opportunities.
The Marlins as a club have disappointed. Despite hosting expensive players on their roster, they failed to justify with their off-season spending-spree. While historically they have been mediocre, luxurious Marlins’ new ballpark demanded a strengthening
of their roster.
They were aiming to welcome their new stadium by achieving splendours in the season. Much to their frustration, if their performance thus far in the season is anything to go by, they have been no different to what they generally do every year.
Amidst all this, emergence of news that Stanton will be representing Marlins in the All-Star Game has come as a rare source of encouragement for the fans.
Not just for fans, for Stanton also, it is a dream come true. Disbelieving over what he has achieved now, he calls it a special moment of his life. At such a young age, he has become one of the few Major Leaguers, who has made it to the All-Star Game.
“It’s one of the most amazing things I’ve done in my life to this point,’’ said Stanton. “It’s something that I might even get emotional if I really think how far I’ve come in this game to be able to do what I’ve done.’’
Finding his name mentioned with some of the best players in modern baseball is not a small achievement. On being announced, he immediately recalled the time when he used to take inspiration from sluggers who would participate in the Home Run Derby competition.

As he has made his name for the Home Run Derby, power of striking homers will be visible to its maximum on the day. While in the games he had to play under constraints, this time he will be free to unleash all that he has in his repertoire.
Stanton has a bright future ahead. Once he goes through the experience of an All-Star Game, he will become mature. It will give him confidence which he can use to come out even better next season.
