Giancarlo Stanton out with strained muscle, to join Miami Marlins on Friday - MLB Update
A muscle problem is keeping the Miami Marlins’ outfielder Giancarlo Stanton out of the line-up and he is expected to remain out until Friday.
He is the most reliable hitter when it comes to striking a series of home-runs in one game. His slugging mastery was acknowledged by the authorities when he was included in the Home-Run Derby crew this year. However, his injury had restricted him from participating
in it.
Missing the series against the Braves by Stanton is not helping the Marlins. Against such an opposition the Marlins will be looking for quality sluggers that can hit for some distance and repeat good performances on a regular basis.
Stanton has been unfortunate with regard to injuries. Whenever he achieves his groove and is all set for unleashing the best, he is inhibited by something.
Before the beginning of the All-Star Game, he was smacking home-runs. Even when the Marlins suffered defeats his contributions were stand out.
He was the only player who secured a place on the All-Star roster from the Marlins. To his dismay just when he was about to take part in such a high profile encounter between the National League and the American League, he sustained an injury. This led to
the announcement of his replacement by the officials.
Thereafter, he went through a rehab process and joined the team again. He kick-started and after few outings at the plate he began heading to attaining his top-notch form. The mammoth homers that are so typical of him started coming off from Stanton.
As a result, the Marlins in contrast to losing streaks earlier struck a right team combination which ensured wins.
However, as Stanton now suffers with strained muscle, they are without an accomplished hitter.
Fortunately the injury is not severe and he will be returning soon. For as long as he is out, Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen has planned to use him as a pinch-hitter.
Ideally Guillen will be looking to see him rehabilitating expeditiously and joining the team as a full-time player. He will hope that the strain in his muscle does not affect his power once he comes back.
