Giancarlo Stanton taken off disabled list and will play against New York Mets - MLB Update
The Miami Marlins have declared their outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is off the disabled list and have put him in the line-up for Tuesday's game against the New York Mets.
His absence has proven nightmarish for the club as their offence experienced a terrible slump for as long as he missed the line-up.
Unlike the home-runs and the occasional big hits that the Marlins can witness but without him runs-drought and a failure of their offence was seen. Therefore, his presence can go a long way in mitigating the offensive woes that the Marlins are suffering
at the moment.
Indeed the hitters like Jose Reyes sit in the Marlins’ line-up but one can hardly expect a flurry of home-runs from them in one game. The very nature of the Marlins' offence is such, if the experiences thus far are to be considered, their batters can strike
hits but they cannot lead the base-runners aboard.
On number of occasions, their base-runners have kept waiting for hits from the batters to reach home plate. However, under pressure most of their hitters have struggled more often than not for producing them.
In this context, Stanton is one of the few players that have the talent of hitting home-runs and generating activity on the bases. Before sustaining knee injury, his contribution for the Marlins was stand out and by far the best by any player in the line-up.
The timing of Stanton’s injury was painful, because he was bracing for appearing in his first All-Star Game. He was also announced for accompanying the best sluggers of the season for the Home Run Derby.
However, the knee soreness and the surgery that followed the pain effectively switch all his wishes to be a part of the extravagant outings off. He had to contend with the bitter reality of watching someone else playing in the ASG.
As he returns now, he will like to put aside the scars on his mind of not being able to feature in the ASG and will be making sure he can help the Marlins as much as he can.
Since the club battle for increasing their winning percentage, Stanton will be looking to play an important role in this regard.
