The former Italian international’s current deal at the San Siro will expire at the end of the 2011/12 season, and the club bosses have not contacted the defender over a new deal as yet.
Zambrotta’s agent, Marcello Bonetto, was talking to Milan News about the veteran’s future, where he told the media that there is not much to share on this front as yet.
“There is nothing new to report and I doubt there will be any time soon.”
However, the agent went on record to say that there is no indication that the former Juventus star will be heading out of Milan. Simultaneously, he also admitted that they have to be prepared in case Milan do not show their interest
in extending Zambrotta’s contract.
Bonetto said:
“Milan have quite a few players whose contracts are expiring, so I think we’ll have to wait until the end of the season to see how much and how well Gianluca has played.”
Bonetto clarified his client’s position on the transfer, stating that the defender wants to see himself in the Rossoneri colours in the upcoming season. He also ruled out the chances of his client retiring from the game after the

The World Cup winning full-back has had a prolific career amassing great number of trophies for some of the big clubs across Europe. The former Bari star has made 11 appearances in all competitions, and has scored a goal too.
