Gianluigi Buffon backs Juventus and claims that he isn’t going anywhere
Former Italian International goalkeeper and current Juventus man, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833 has insisted that the Bianconeri need some boost and confidence to make their way up in the Serie A table.
The goalkeeper admitted that Juventus have been going through some tough times recently and just one moment of brilliance could bring his side back to its very best. Juventus are in contention for the UEFA Europa League spot but a recent slump in form has
pegged them back a bit.
The Turin giants have had a very inconsistent season winning just eleven of the twenty-nine games which has already left a big question mark over their abilities. The 33-year-old goalkeeper was relieved to see his side drawing level with the seventeenth
placed Cesena that ended Juventus' three match losing streak.
The 33-year-old further added that, "We are encountering some difficult moments, as it is a tough time, but we cannot let it get to us, the numerous injuries have hurt us, as every time we tried to raise the player quality in our side, there has been an
injury."
The goalkeeper also claimed that Juventus are a very professional side and have the ability to stage a comeback any time. He further added that Turin giants are lacking a bit in confidence at the moment and it is just a matter of time when Juventus will
be back to winning ways.
The goalkeeper also confirmed that he has no plans to retire from club football any sooner, neither does he have any plans to leave Juventus come the end of the season.
Buffon concluded by saying, "All we are lacking is confidence to return to being a big squad, ‘superman' also confirmed he will not be leaving the side at the end of the season. I will remain at Juve, and this is what the club and I both want."
Gianluigi Buffon joined the Italian club in 2001 after serving Parma for six years. Since then, the Italy International has managed to make 283 appearances for the club. He has also appeared 103 times for the Italian National team.
Juventus are currently seventh in the Serie A table with 42 points, seven points short of the sixth placed AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and 20 points short of the current leaders AC Milan. A sixth place finish in the Serie A will guarantee them a place in the 2011-12 season’s
Europa League while a finish anywhere below the sixth spot will leave the Bianconeri deprived of a Championship place next season.
Juventus will host relegation battling Brescia in their next game on Sunday, the 20 of March, 2011 at Stadio Olimpico.
