The veteran Juventus shot stopper has gone on to laud the wonder goal scored by the Brazilian youngster, Oscar, while remarking on the other aspects of their form.
The Bianconeri outfit were making their first appearance in the UEFA Champions League since 2009-10, and gave a decent account of themselves in the match against Chelsea. It was always going to be a tricky tie as Juventus were going to be travelling away
for their match against the Premier League outfit.
The match was played out at the Stamford Bridge outfit, and Chelsea scored two goals in quick succession courtesy of their recent buy, Oscar, from the Brazilian League. The first goal by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 had a stroke of luck to it as the strike from the attacking player
took a deflection on its way to the goal. However, the second goal was of sheer brilliance and showed why there was such a huge battle between Manchester United and Chelsea to gain the services of the youngster.
Despite being beaten by the shot that the youngster curled, Buffon appreciated the effort of the starlet and remarked that despite the fact that he was beaten; it was alright, as he was part of the moment.
Buffon replied that they probably did not deserve to be trailing by two goals at the time, and said that the result was not justified at half time. He went on to state:
“Clearly we are all happy to have equalised away to the reigning champions, but analysing the game we were 2-0 down in a fairly unexpected way, as we had been playing on a par with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The fact we were 2-0 down was harsh considering the performances
of the two teams.”
He went on to state on the current remarks being made in the media, and remarked:
“The statistics say we aren’t keeping clean sheets at the moment. As long as it’s three or four games, that is one thing, but if this run stretches on then that is a warning sign we ought to work on.”
Juventus will be playing their next Champions League match in the coming fortnight.
