The Juventus shot stopper went on to commend the mental toughness and maturity his teammates have shown in the aftermath of the Scommessopoli allegations.
The Scommessopoli controversy has dragged many footballers through the dirt for their alleged involvement in match fixing in the Italian league. After decisions were handed out, the verdicts that Buffon listened to most intently was that of his teammates
and the coaching staff at Juve.
Antonio Conte was charged with allegations of failing to notify the proper authorities after knowing about matches being fixed in the Serie B. He was indicted alongside Angelo Alessio for their time at AC Siena, in the same year that they won promotion into
the Serie A.

However, after the verdicts were given out, Bonucci and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 were cleared; however, Conte and Alessio were banned for ten months and eight months respectively.
The captain of the Italian national team went on to state his reaction on the news, and even though he was extremely happy by the news of his teammates, he was saddened by Conte’s verdict. When quizzed by the assembled press, he went on to state:

played sensationally at the European Championships, has demonstrated that he is a strong man.”
While lauding his team mates for their mental strength and not flinching when times got tough, the goalkeeper went on to comment on his opinion of Coach Conte’s verdict, and he optimistically replied:
“As for the Coach, the will to fight is part of his DNA and after all, we are only at the first stage of the judgement.”
The date for appeals of this verdict is set for 20th of August.
