The Bianconeri goalkeeper believes that his team is on the right track but the legendary Italian international believes that it will be silly to be get complacent.
Juventus goal keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833, is content with the progress made so far in the season and believes the Turin giants have come a long way from their inconsistent last season.
However, Buffon wants to remain focused on the task at hand and considers that it would be foolish to get carried away by success.
The 33-year-old Italian international was recently talking to the media where he expressed his feelings for the ongoing 2011/12 season.
The goalkeeper said:
“There has been an evident change of direction from July onwards, but getting ahead of ourselves would be stupid.”
Juve were in the top 3 last term as well going into the winter break. However, the Lady Killers fell down to the 7th spot in the league later on and missed out on European action for a second consecutive season.
The Juve glove-man does not want to repeat the same events and wants to stay on track.
“We are not even halfway there and up until now the journey has been a strain in every respect, including psychologically. All it takes is a moment and you find yourself back on the floor. I never want to experience those first few months of 2011 again.
It was awful,” said Buffon.
Furthermore, the goalkeeper hailed the former Juve head coach, Gigi Del Neri, as a great tactician, adding that luck wasn't on his side.
“However, I wouldn’t blame Gigi Del Neri, as he is a great Coach and a good man. He was just unlucky.” He said.
Juve are currently sitting at the top of the Serie A league table alongside defending champions, AC Milan, as both teams have secured 34 points from 16 games. La Vecchia Signora are keen to stay atop the league and are looking forward to a comeback in the
UEFA Champions League next year.
